With Earl Lloyd & Dolph Schayes already playing with casts, George King’s wrist would keep him out of the line-up. The Lakers were too much for the undermanned Nats despite War Memorial Auditorium’s largest crowd ever.

The Nats resemblance to a mash unit continued as Gabor pulled cartilage in his right knee in the 3rd period. Syracuse did manage to put down the Lakers; mostly from the free throw line.

Jim Neal forced a game 7 by hitting a 27-foot shot with 4 seconds left to win it. The Lakers had one of the worst quarters in Finals history with only 6 points in the 3rd period.

Game #7 4/12/54 @Minneapolis

The Lakers took control early and Syracuse could get no close than 5 points after early in the 2nd quarter. Jim Pollard scored 9 points in the 3rd period as the Lakers stretched their lead to 61-45 with 3 minutes left in the period. Syracuse would try to rally late, but it had too much ground to make up.
