ABA ALL STAR GAME
1/27/76 @Denver
The ancestor of the current All-Star Weekend was born here.
Before the game there was a concert featuring Glen Campbell & Charlie Rich.
Then at halftime, there was the first, organized slam dunk contest at a pro
game. It featured Julius Erving, David Thompson, George Gervin, Larry Kenon
& Artis Gilmore. Erving defeated Thompson in the finals. A game that was
played at lightning speed and saw the Nuggets emerge with a win after a 93-point
4th quarter. David Thompson was named MVP.
