Abdul Jabbar (in that moment known as Lew Alcindor) with a short shot and an
additional free throw with 48 seconds left, gave the triumph to the West.
The MVP was Lenny Wilkens, who made 21 points in 20 minutes (8-11 FG and 5-5
FT). He led West in a key 14-1.
In 1971, Lenny Wilkens was the player-trainer in the Seattle SuperSonics.
