Game #2 5/17/70 @Indiana
The Stars jumped to the early lead paced by Merv Jackson’s 19 1st half points. The Pacers closed late in the 3rd period and eventually tied the game at 94 on a Bob Netolicky 15-foot jumper. The teams then traded leads 8 times before Roger Brown put Indiana on top for good with a hoop that made it 111-109. Freddie Lewis hit a free throw to make it 112-109. The Stars closed the gap to 112-111 on a Netolicky goaltend with 0:34 left. Netolicky then came up with a key offensive rebound and drew a foul with 0:06 left. He made both free throws to make it 114-111. Mack Calvin missed a trey at the buzzer that would’ve sent it to overtime.

Broadcast on national TV, the game saw 15 ties & 19 lead changes. Indiana led by 11 in the 2nd quarter, but L.A. rallied to tie the game at 67 midway through the 3rd period. Indiana then pushed back out by 8 points in the 4th but the Stars rallied to send the game into overtime. In the OT, Indiana managed only 1 field goal. Netolicky scored 3 straight points to put Indiana up 110-109. Mack Calvin answered on a drive to put L.A. in front to stay. The Stars led 115-112 when they intentionally fouled Roger Brown rather than allow him to get off a game-tying 3-point attempt. With 4 seconds left, Brown made the 1st and then missed the 2nd intentionally. Calvin grabbed the board & converted 2 free throws to seal the win.
